River Walk Pathways and Views

What makes the river walk my favorite place to run is so much more than just the people and the atmosphere. It is the pathways and the views.

The 13 mile stretch covers paved pathways, boardwalks, wooden bridges, and even a glass bridge. You cross over rivers, creeks and marshlands, and it makes for a breathtaking view.

My personal favorite is the view as you begin to cross the glass bridge just as the sun is setting and sits perfectly between the mountains and buildings.

Then, as you turn the corner onto the wooden walking bridge you can see the most beautiful reflection of the sunset on the water. There is just nothing like a river walk run at sunset!

The wooden walking bridge, along with the rest of the river walk, is equally as beautiful during the day. The walking bridge seems to me to be the heart of the river walk. There are people constantly crossing the bridge in both directions heading out on their own journey down the river walk.

You see more than just people enjoying their run, walk, or ride from the walking bridge. You see art. There are very often musicians playing along the bridge, and if you’re lucky you may even catch someone making art in the dew on the grass below.

The river walk is a beautiful place. The pathways, the nature, the people, the atmosphere – they all make it beautiful, and the beauty of it all is truly my favorite part.
